How we’re unique

The Level 5 System

The Level 5 system is about creating the right program for YOU. Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, we divide our clients into 5 levels based on what you need most. Every phase includes:

Movement:Our exercise programs are developed by experts in biomechanics & postural alignment, physique training, sports performance, and toning regimens and completely optimized to your body and goals.

Nutrition: We customize your nutrition based upon 3 important considerations: your lifestyle, your genetic background, and your goals. Your plan will be based on the newest science, but also simple and realistic to follow, and we are ALWAYS there to provide support and guidance.

Lifestyle: Whether it’s helping you reduce stress, finding more time to exercise, or working on other healthy habits, we are here to help you achieve peace, energy, and balance.

Connection: The biggest roadblocks to success are often internal, and we will help you overcome them. Our approach centers on getting to know and understand you personally, while encouraging our entire staff and clientele to support each other as a TEAM.

What To Expect

Whether you’re here for 1:1 or Group training, it’s our job to help you pick the coach who’s right for you (not just their knowledge and skill-set, but also someone you connect with and feel inspired by). Your coach will be there every step of the way to empower you to succeed!

Personalized Level 5 Program

Your coach will develop a customized program depending on which of the 5 levels is right for you. We base this on your goals, lifestyle, likes & dislikes, roadblocks, injuries/limitations, and biomechanics, and your routine is fully accessible from your phone/computer.

Train at Home or in the Studio

Come in to the mothership and train at the frequency that is right for you, and we’ll also make sure you’re comfortable and confident with your routine to do it on your own!

Trainer Check-Ins

We check-in several times a week in-between sessions (usually just a quick text or email), to help you stay motivated and on-track with your nutrition, stress management, and workout consistency. Yes we even do this for our group clients 🙂

Weekly Updates

Your coach will follow-up and make adjustments- from adding a couple of extra repetitions, to swapping out an exercise that bugs your back, to dialing down a little more with your macronutrients.

Get Results & Repeat

We will take time on a monthly basis to look at your progress towards your goal, and help you identify what did & didn’t work. Every month we’ll reevaluate your plan, and implement progressions to ensure the results keep coming!

Our Team

  • Kai Taylor

    Director of Movement, Lead Trainer

Kai’s journey through fitness started at an early age excelling in a variety of sports from Soccer, to Basketball, and Kickboxing, and reached a peak as a professional soccer player. After seeing the doors opened in his life through exercise and health, he was inspired to become a trainer, and saw immediate success, helping one of his first clients lose 100+lbs in 1 year! That all collapsed when his client experienced a terrible injury from overexertion, and the pounds began to come back on. Kai started to ask himself what he could’ve done to prevent this, and how he could help others, and eventually became an Egoscue Method practitioner, an elite school of training dedicated to reducing pain, and improving posture and biomechanics. After working RANGING FROM CELEBRITIES, TO PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES, AND SOCCER MOMS, he’s truly mastered the art of movement, and how to not only mitigate pain, but truly unleash the potential of their body’s function and appearance.

  • Jesse Gaynor

    General Manager, Lead Trainer

Jesse is seasoned personal trainer, nutritionist, and health coach with over 10 years of experience guiding his clients into their health & fitness goals. He started his personal training journey at the young age of 19 years old helping clients get in better shape by losing body fat & gaining muscle. He continued down this path ferociously learning everything he could about nutrition & anything that would help clients reach their physical goals. As his clientele grew, Jesse started to see the content of what to do was only as useful as a clients’ ability to keep practicing that content. As a result, Jesse started focusing & specializing in helping his clients find realistic strategies with their nutrition, exercise, & lifestyle that they could sustainably incorporate through their whole lives. Today, Jesse continues to practice helping clients with sustainability while focusing on the level 5 exercise system of postural alignment (increase function & eliminate pain) combined with getting stronger! He is an avid mover, & enjoys all things health & movement related, including dancing, biking, exercise, mountain climbing, gymnastics, martial arts, and acro yoga!

  • Greg Fischer

    Director of Operations

Greg spent 7 years with 24 Hour Fitness, progressively moving from Personal Trainer, to Training Manager, and eventually General Manager, overseeing multimillion dollar facilities with teams of 50+ employees. Along the way he learned many important lessons including how to manage operations and scale a business, that smiles are free to give, but pay dividends, and that he doesn’t like wearing dress shoes and slacks (rumor is that’s why he left). He was inspired to cofound Level 5 from a deep frustration with the industries failure to provide clients with the tools necessary for success. He loves snowboarding (and dreams of experiencing Japanuary), has a lifelong goal of growing shoulder-length hair, and would meditate on the beach and play soccer 7 days a week if he could.

  • Rebecca Brown

    Personal Trainer

Rebecca spent 6 years as a competitive gymnast and continued her passion for fitness and activity with cheer, dance and even boxing. She graduated from the University of Arizona pursing a career in corporate recruitment and moved to San Diego to live the California dream, only realizing spending the day in business casual at a desk wasn't her scene. Rebecca knew she loved working with fitness and nutrition and wanted to help others be successful in implementing heath into their lifestyle so she decided to join the team at Level 5 Fitness. She packed up her car and moved to the Santa Monica area to begin a new chapter. Rebecca spends any free time outdoors and enjoys biking the boardwalk, beach days and outdoor yoga. She also likes to get creative in the kitchen and loves trying out new healthy recipes.
